Una Misteriosa Bola.

by Valerie Dray

The work of Antoine Dorotte raises more questions than it answers. Preparing for the FIAC, Hors les Murs – at the Tuileries, he’s presenting a geodesic dome in zinc with a diameter of 5 meters, inspired by the architectural designs of the American inventor Buckminster Fuller.

He called his dome Una Misteriosa bola.

Over the week-end, one could see an unusual globe floating off the park, as a wandering planet. By moving closer one would realized that the artist and his friends were working hard on assembling this mysterious dome, piece by piece.

Yesterday Morning Antoine Dorotte had to dive in to the pond to release the cable who laid the dome on the water.

The representation of the strangest, neither human nor plant nor animal, anonymous, standing there, in the middle of the central pond of the park, recalling either the praise of a drifting world, or the chessboard of life ready to hatch.

Antoine Dorotte – born in Sens in 1978, lives and works in Rennes – is represented by Galerie ACDC Bordeaux.
